Time Capsule 2020

Are you ready for 2020? Well, you should be because we’re actually a week into it now hahaha.

Our family made a time capsule to look back into our 2019. Here is the template I made! This one is in 2 years time but you could also make one that you could open in 1 year, 5 years… it’s really up to you. A lot can happen in one year, you’d be surprised.

It’s printable on A4 size. You may download it for personal use only (I don’t own the background photo) if you want to make a time capsule with your friends and family too. I made it suitable for students but you may of course replace the year/school with position/company instead if you are an adult.

Then we will put each of our papers inside an envelope and my daughter is tasked to seal the envelopes with her stamp thing. You know those seals they used back in the days, wherein you melt the wax over your envelope then stamp it? I think it is called a wax seal stamp.

Since she’s very excited to use her posh stamp, we’ll seal our time capsules with it.

Then the fun part is that you go about your daily life and then after 2 years, you open the time capsules and find out how much you have changed… or not hehehe.

I remember sending snail mail to my friends in the Philippines with time capsules in it. I almost forgot about them until my friends messaged me to say thanks for the memories and showed me the time capsules. It’s very nice and heart warming. I figured it would be a fun activity to do with the family and it would be nice to look back to this day, God willing.
