I couldn’t get enough of Fall Friends stamp set from Hello Bluebird so I decided to create another autumn card featuring all 3 creatures. While making the card, I realised that the background I created also works well with a lot of stamp sets in my stash.
So today I will be sharing how to make this easy autumn background that’s so versatile, so you too could start digging your old stamps that haven’t been used in a while. 😄
It’s such a verstile template that I was able to make 4 cards using different sentiments, mixing and matching 4 different stamp sets and a die set.
The stamp sets I used were Fall Friends (Hello Bluebird), Over the Moon and Cuckoo For You (Stampin’ Up!) and Snow Much Fun (Love Cynthia).
For the treehouse, I got it from Tree House Scene die (Hello Bluebird). It’s fun and interactive because the door opens up.
The inks I used for the background were Carved Pumpkin from Tim Holtz Distress Ink and Mango Melody from Stampin’ Up!. Then for the ground or grass part, I used Granny Apple Green and Espresso Brown both from Stampin’ Up!.
The Espresso brown works well with the edges but when colouring the middle parts, it’s best to use a more toned-down shade like Antique Linen (Distress Ink). I didn’t have it so I just brushed really gently.
As long as you get an earthy tone, not too vibrant because autumn colours are more subdued. Just be very careful with using too much dark brown or it might end up looking Halloween-ish. 😁
