Hello friends! After a long hiatus from updating my cardmaking blog, I’m finally back to share a new cardmaking idea. I came up with this handmade card design with the help of my little girl when she turned 4. Lately, I have been so engrossed with pop-up box cards and Darla requested me to make one that looks like a castle with a princess on it. Oh and she also wanted the colour theme to be pink.

I don’t have a special die to create this pop-up box card but I made a post on how to make this pop-up box card previously, which you can view here. I used Lawn Fawn brick stencil and hickory smoke Distress Ink to create the wall background. For the sky, I used a skyblue cardstock and cut the clouds using Rainbow Sky Dies from Hello Bluebird.

I used an old stamp set from MFT called Once Upon a Time for the princess and the carriage and coloured the images with alcohol ink markers. For the door and the windows on the tower, I used Lawn Fawn Scallope Treat Box Winter House Add-on dies.

The roof of the the towers were just triangles cut out from a pink cardstock. Then I added some climbing vines on the sides for embellishment, a banner with sentiment on the front and number four in pink glitter foam.

This cardmaking idea is really quick to make and I’m sure any little girl will love to receive one for their birthday. They will definitely feel special with the princess and castle theme, just as my daughter did when she saw it. It’s very easy to customize too, as you could just change the colour theme into red, purple, blue, or into any colour your daughter wants as well as change the number to fit her age.

I hope you like this pop-up box card idea for a princess castle themed birthday. Thank you for visiting and I hope to see you on my Instagram @hugsinacard and Facebook!
