Hugs in a Card

Hi friends! I’m back with another cardmaking idea today, a pop-up box card for an incoming baby!

Since I am using Lawn Fawn Little Bundle stamp sets, which features the cutest baby clothes, I decided I will create a matching washing machine box card. I’m so addicted to pop up cards and so making this handmade card was an enjoyable one.

I started with an A4 grey cardstock and turned it into a box card. If you would like to know the basic process, head on over to my previous post on how to make different kinds of pop-up cards. I just made a little tweak on the measurements here because I needed the front of the box to be higher just like a washing machine, so instead of cutting out in the middle, I cut out only about 2 cm from the top.

I then covered all sides of the washing machine with yellow cardstock, leaving about 2mm outline just as in the photo. I cut a circle frame using my circle stacked dies from silver cardstock and then attached an acetate sheet at the back of it for the glass door effect. Using various images from Lawn Fawn Little Bundle stamp sets, I filled the back of the glass door with tiny baby clothes before attaching it at the front of my box card. Then I glued bits of silver rectangles and circles onto a green strip of cardstock and attached it above the door for the buttons.

To add some more fun, I added various images including the 3 little critters from Lawn Fawn Smore the Merrier stamp set around the washing machine. The critters were too busy washing the bundles of baby clothes!

I added the sentiments on the washing machine board. The message says “welcome little one” on the board and “lots of love and more laundry” on the sides. Then I also attached a white cardstock on the back of the card so that the giver can write her own personal message for her friend who will be receiving this handmade card.

This cardmaking idea is a request from my dear friend whose friend was going to have a baby. Since the gender was a surprise, I used yellow and green colours for this handmade card to keep it unisex.
