Easel Card | Seasonal Trees Thanksgiving

Easel card seasonal trees sizzix dies

Hello dear friends! Today is all about an easel card you can make with any stamp and die set you have available in your collection. My last post was also an easel card that does not use special dies, but this one’s a little less complex to make. I’d say this is very basic, and you can create this with almost any stamp set and die you have.

I used an A6 sized smooth white cardstock for the card based and before I scored 2 inches from the bottom, I dabbed some ink first using a blending brush and distress inks. For this particular card design, the inks I used were:

  • Soft Suede at the bottom
  • Blushing Bride at the mid portion

Both inks were from Stampin’ Up! I kept the top part mostly white.

Then, I also cut 3 small hills from kraft brown cardstock and added some Early Espresso ink at the bottom for shadow and dimension. I made sure that the hills were less than 2 inches, so they go below the score line.

This easel card design uses the Seasonal Trees thinlits dies from Sizzix. I cut the trees 3 times and stacked them together to make each tree die cut sturdier. I used kraft brown cardstock and then dabbed some brown ink (Early Espresso from Stampin’ Up!) to add dimension to the trees. I glued only the bottom parts so that when the card os folded along the score line, the trees pop up with it creating that easel effect.

For the leaves, I used the leaves die cut from the same Seasonal Trees die set from Sizzix and cut them on a watercoloured paper so that the leaves have various shades of pinks and reds. I also used gold flakes and rhinestone embellishments.

Inside, I stuck a piece of kraft brown cardstock using foam tape. The kraft brown cardstock was also dabbed with Early Espresso and Soft Suede browns. I also sprinkled droplets of water to lift up some of the ink. Then I heat embossed on white embossing powder the sentiments “give thanks” and “happy Thanksgiving” from Simon Says Autumn Greeting stamp set.

And that’s it, the card is done! You can definitely make adaptations on this catd design to make a birthday card, a thank you card, or an all occasion card. I can see myself using this technique for my future cardmaking projects.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog and I hope this cardmaking idea inspired you. Stay tuned for more diy card ideas and giveaways.
