Hello friends! I’m so happy to be sharing a new box card idea, using Merry Mice Hello Bluebird stamp set for a birthday card. The original idea was just a box card in teal blue mixed with autumn colours. But I also wanted to give handmade cards to my colleagues celebrating their birthdays in April.

I used a Franchville white cardstock and split it in the middle lengthwise to create 2 box cards. Each piece is scored crosswise at the following measurements: 3.25 – 5.25 – 8.5 – 10.5. Then I cut off 2 inches from the top (still crosswise) except the first scored portion. For clearer instructions, you can watch my tutorial video of how to make pop up box card.

I added teal rectangles on all sides and the biggest panel in the middle. For the display middle panel, I created another layer of background by blending dye inks in shades of Salvaged Patina (distress ink) and Bermuda Bay (Stampin’ Up!). Then I sprinkled some water and lifted the colour off on random parts to create a beautiful speckled look.
I cut 3 grass rows for the inserts and the back panel. Before I glued the pieces, I blended a dark green ink on the top part for some dimension. I used the grass dies from Mama Elephant Window Dressing die set.

Then I added the mice and the banner at behind them. The mice were from Hello Bluebird Merry Mice stamp set. One of the mice was actually rolling snow. I turned it into bread instead. The cupcake, loaf, and banner were from Lawn Fawn.
I also added another layer of white cardstock on the front of the box card to stamp the sentiment “eat, drink and be cozy” which is from Hello Bluebird Autumn Gatherings stamp set.

For the final touch of embellishments, I addes autumn leaves and some gold flakes. I was actually very happy how the card design turned out. The teal and the autumn colours blended quite well. Next time, I will create the same card design for a thanksgiving occasion and I can’t wait to share it with you.
