My daughter recently celebrated her birthday together with her twin friends. Their birthday theme was strawberry. They had strawberry dresses, strawberry giveaways, strawberry loot bags, strawberry balloons, and of course, strawberry cake toppers! To me, it’s another fun excuse to use my papercrafting addiction and come up with a DIY project – be it cake toppers, cupcake toppers, thank you tags, etc.

We celebrated their birthday in church where there were many MANY kids, who were all their friends. Lucky Costco sells a really big cake for only AU$35. I bought the blank white cake and with a little bit of decorating and some DIY cake toppers, the cake looked very special and expensive.

So if your little one is having his or her birthday soon and you can’t decide on a birthday theme, a strawberry-themed party is a really good idea. It’s easy, so cute, and really vibrant and jolly!
My friend arranged the balloons, that’s her forte, and I’d say the balloons were the star of the show. They make such a great backdrop and sets the strawberry theme party really well. The red, green, and pink balloons were such a great and cute combination isn’t it?

For the party giveaways, I ordered these cute strawberry tumblers with a matching strawberry keychain on Temu. I wrapped them up in cellophane bags which you can get from Kmart for $1 per 25 packs. The pack comes with ties too. I asked my older daughters to help me attach the “thank you” tags, of course in strawberry theme as well, which I printed on a thick white cardstock.

My friend also made other giveaways. That’s the fun of having conjoined birthdays, turning the ideas into reality is easier withouth running your budget to the ground. There were strawberry loot bags with lollies and chocolates inside and bags of rainbow popcorn. For sure, there were enough giveaways for everyone, even the teens.

Food preparation did not necessarily have to be strawberry themed this time hehehe. My husband, whose spaghetti was sought after, offered to cook 3kilos of that plus fried chicken. My friend made red velvet cupcakes with cream and strawberry sauce on top. The cupcake toppers were cute strawberries on toothpicks. The cupcakes were a hit!

She also made mini burgers from brioche bread using meat balls as burger patties and then drizzling them with a little bit of kewpie and barbecue sauce. It’s a very clever invention indeed. The teens but kids at heart loved the mini burgers.

Finally, to decorate the cake, I added real strawberries which gave out a really nice contrast against the white cream. They were fresh from the Woolies. I cut off the leaf part and stuck them upside down around the cake.
The bunting banner was printed using a thick pink cardstock and I used pink striped paper straws to stick it onto the cake. I played with the greeting and thought “A Berry Happy Birthday” was such a fitting pun! I added their names like signboards and glued them onto the straws.

For the centrepiece, I created this cute Strawberry house using Lawn Fawn dies for the doors and windows.
The little girls in pink were cute figures which I bought from Temu as well. I stuck a long toothpick behind the figures so I could stick them onto the cake.

I stuck their age numbers on both side of the Strawberry house. I wish I could have found a red coloured but these diamond ones did just fine.
Lastly, I’m so glad I found striped pink candles to match the banner posts. Here is a close up take of the very pretty cake – you wouldn’t think it’s a blank Costco one, would you? Hehehe…

Oh, and did I mention? Darla and the twins were wearing, of course, strawberry themed dresses.
