It’s nice to dig in my old stash sometimes to discover an old, forgotten treasure. This cardmaking project is a shadow box using Hello Bluebird Long Distance stamps and Birch Tree dies.

To create the shadow box, you can watch my tutorial video on how to make various pop up cards on YouTube. I used a smooth white cardstock and blended the clouds with Pacific Point blue ink using a self-made stencil. I coloured the bottom part in various shades of green ink (Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, and Mint Macaron from Stampin’ Up!) and added grass die cuts at the front and the middle insert.

Before closing the shadow box, I stamped the sentiment first from the Long Distance Stamp set as well. Then, I cut 3 birch tree barks from white cardstock and coloured them with a brush blender. For the inner part, I used Soft Suede ink and then highlighted the edges with a darker Early Espresso ink.

I used the 2 squirrel images in the same stamp set from Hello Bluebird and coloured them with Copic markers. The flowers were from Mama Elephant Window Dressing Long Slim Line dies coloured with Real Red ink from Stampin’ Up! The leaves were from Lawn Fawn Giant Thank You Messages.

Finally, I added flat backed pearls on some flowers and also a silver string at the back of each cans to connect them.
I hope you liked this design! I think I will make more of this using the bears from the stamp set. I will also use yellow flowers next time around.
