It’s the last weekend of the month again which means time for a new DIY cake topper! This paper flower design for a cake topper came to me in a random way. I looked around my room, saw the red streamer (crepe paper) on the shelf, an old strawberry cake topper design, and my crafting supplies, then a paper flower popped up in my mind.

I started by creating 2 small circles on a thick white cardstock. Then, I cut petal shapes from the crepe paper. I shaped the petals with my fingers to make them curve inside and then glued them along the sides of the circle cardstock. When all the outer side has been filled out with petals, I glued more petals on top of the first layer until there was no space left. See image below.

I added yellow rhinestones in the middle as a finishing touch. I made 2 of these flowers and attached them on each end of the straws.

I added a banner greeting printed and cut from a thick white cardstock then attached them on the straws behind the flowers.

Finally, I added a bunting banner to indicate the month of JULY. The diy cake topper is done ✔️
Hope you liked this new idea! Until next month again.
