Hello friends! Today I am sharing my latest cardmaking project, an interactive handmade card with galaxy background using a stamp set from MFT called Out of this World. I have made a similar galaxy themed interactive card some years back, you can check out the post and let me know which one you think is better.
I started by making the galaxy background using 4 colours of ink. Using a blending brush, I started with the blue (Pacific Poin from Stampin’ Up!) and dabbed it accross the middle of a white cardstock. I left a white part diagonally from bottom left to top right so I was dabbing around this white area. I also added blues on the outer parts. I did the same with the purple ink (Gorgeous Grape from Stampin’ Up!). As I go outwards, I used a darker blue (Night of Navy from Stampin’ Up!) and then black on the outermost parts (Tuxedo Black from Memento).

When I was satisfied with the colours, I splattered some white and metallic pearl watercolour paints too. At the centre, I used a die cut to create the interactive mechanism. Don’t throw away the cut out part. I used it on the base of the black card. Next, I coloured the Astronaut image and cut off the star balloons because I didn’t need it for this card. I used coloured pencils and a white gel pen for the glass highlights.
To attach the Astronaut onto the vertical slit, I cut out a black circle cardstock. The black circle cardstock goes behind the slit and the Astronaut goes at the front. I attached the 2 pieces using a round foam adhesive to allow some space for the Astronaut to spin. You will need something heavy, like a 5 cent coin attached to the black cardstock to make the image spin.

Finally, I added some silver stars and rhinestones for embellishment and embossed the sentiment in silver embossing powder so that it stands out against the black cardstock. I cut the sentiment and attached it to the card with a foam adhesive.
I also used foam adhesives to attach the front panel to the black card base making sure there is enough space for the Astronaut to spin. I added a white cardstock inside to write personal messages.

Hope you liked this card design! Thank you very much for visiting my blog!
