Last December, I was approached by a dear friend and sis to make a birthday scrapbook for her daughter who turned 18 this January. This handmade scrapbook measures 5×7 inches and is made from cardstocks and papers of various thickness from Stampin Up. I really love the combination of hot pink, black, blue, yellow, and silver. Such bright and beautiful colours!

Firstly, I cut two 5×7 inches and 1 inch thick cardboards. The bigger ones on left and right and the thin one in the middle. I wrapped them in hot pink thick paper to make the body of the scrapbook. Then I created the pages in black cardstock and attached them as well using the black cardstock.

I printed a set of digital paper prints as well and used different designs for each page and parts. The pages have random designs but all throughout the scrapbook I added papers and pieces to write personal messages.

This scrapbook included 20 photos (I think, I can’t remember exactly anymore). I know there wasn’t enough pages to fit all so I created a pocket on the 4th page to store more photos. On the last page, I also added a big birthday card.

The scrapbook also includes a waterfall card feature and bookmarks with photos of the birthday girl. The embellishments I used were balloons and cakes cut out from gold, blue, and pink glitter foam.

I really enjoyed making this handmade scrapbook and I think I’ll include making more scrapbooks this year. My favourite part here is the silver “happy birthday” and stars at the front. They really stood out against the splash of bright colours.
