Create a Coffee-Themed Shadow Box Card | Handmade Cardmaking with Digital Papers

Handmade coffee-themed shadow box card featuring Hugs in a Card digital papers in blue and brown, accented with a cute coffee cup couple and heart embellishments

If you’re a fan of handmade cardmaking and love incorporating digital prints for cardmaking and scrapbooking, then this coffee-themed shadow box card will inspire your next crafting project! Using Hugs in a Card digital papers (my very own designed by my daughter, Demi!) I created a cozy, heartwarming design in a blue and brown colour scheme, perfect for coffee lovers.

Supplies Used:

  • Hugs in a Card digital papers (coffee-themed in blue and brown)
  • Cute coffee cup clipart featuring a sweet couple
  • Shadow box card base from Stampin’ Up! Crumb Cake A4 cardstock
  • “You Warm My Heart” sentiment from Hello Bluebird stamp set
  • Heart embellishment die cuts
  • Lawn Fawn Peek-A-Boo die cut (for the shadow box opening)
  • Adhesives and basic crafting tools

Step-by-Step Tutorial

Step 1: Prepare the Shadow Box Base

To create depth, I cut and folded a shadow box card base using sturdy cardstock from Stampin Up. This structure allows the elements to pop and adds dimension to the card. Visit my blog post on how to make pop up cards and read the tutorial for making a shadow box.

Step 2: Print and Cut the Digital Papers

Using Hugs in a Card digital papers, I selected a charming coffee pattern in blue and brown. Digital prints for scrapbooking and cardmaking are a great way to add unique designs to your projects. I printed them on high-quality cardstock and cut them to fit the panels of the shadow box.

Step 3: Assemble the Scene

I fussy-cut an adorable coffee cup clipart that features a smiling couple, adhering them to the insert of the shadow box card to give them a 3D effect. Around the coffee cups, I scattered heart-shaped embellishments cut using the Floating Hearts Die cut that my bestfriend gifted me to enhance the romantic theme.

Step 4: Add the Sentiment

The sentiment “You Warm My Heart” from Hello Bluebird perfectly complements the coffee-loving couple. I stamped it onto a white cardstock from SU and adhered it to the front of the card.

Beautiful handmade card with digital papers, Stampin' Up stamps, and coffee-themed scrapbook elements for DIY crafting inspiration.
