Poppystamps Challenge – Me & You

Poppystamps hedgehog dies cardmaking idea hugs

Hi friends! I’m back today with a cardmaking idea for Poppystamps challenge #101. The theme for this challenge is Me & You.

Love cards are not really my forte so I tried my best to come up with something from my Poppystamps stash.

Card making idea for Poppystamps stamps and die marzipan greetings and hedgehog pink and purple

I started by die cutting 2 of these cute hedgehogs from a craft die which I got for free from my last purchase with Poppystamps. I coloured them with different brown Copic Alcohol Markers.

Then I cut a rectangle panel from a smooth white cardstock and ink blended the following colours from top to middle: Distress Ink Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac, and Stampin Up Balmy Blue ink. I used the second largest die from Scrap Dragon A6 Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut my panel.

Then I added some tiny pink hearts using a pink metallic watercolour I bought from Kmart. I also added some bokeh hearts by lifting off the ink with my waterbrush in shapes of tiny hearts.

Next, I stamped and die cut the sentiment Hello from Marzipan Greetings stamp and die set from Poppystamps. I coloured it with pink Ohuhu alcohol markerks.

Alcohol markers used:

  • Hedgehog spines – Copics E43, E42 E41, E40
  • Hedgehog body – Copics E13, E11, E00, E000
  • Pinks – Ohuhu R12, RV270, RV260

I attached my images and the sentiment with foam adhesives to add dimension since this card is very minimalistic. Then I added the handwritten sentiment sending hedge- right above the HUGS so that it would read sending hedgehugs. Punny right hehehe.

Finally, I glued the panel to a purple cardstock to give it an outline. I used a heavy weight cardstock for my card base to complete my card.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! If you like this card, you can also check out ideas from Instagram at Poppystamps and Hugs in a Card.
