Poppystamps Challenge | Bloom Where You Are Planted

Poppystamps adriana easel dies for cardmaking

Was it a coincidence or what? My latest cardmaking project was for my friend at work for her request. This design uses the Adriana Easel Dies from Poppystamps and I used a printed sentiment which reads “May your day bloom with happiness.” This easel handmade card has an inside message as well that greets “Have a happy birthday.”

I haven’t been updated in the cardmaking community in a long time but out of curiosity, I peeked at Poppystamps Challenge which I loved to join back then. Life happens and responsibilities get overwhelming but circumstances always lead me back to cardmaking. Making handmade cards is not just a hobby, it calms my mind down and I find it therapeutic.

I was really glad to see that the challenge was exactly matching with this cardmaking project and what’s even more amazing was I used Poppystams to create this handmade card design. I had this easel die set for a while now but this time around, there was a nagging feeling to use this for may birthday card design.

The process how to make this easel card was not complicated. Thanks to the easel die sets from Poppystamps – they have the best easel dies, I swear! If not only for money issues, I would have bought all of them hehehe. Anyway, I’m taking it one at a time.

The inspiration for the colour scheme was from a backdrop I saw at a party. It was the prettiest combination of blues and pinks and purples and when I tried it on the Adriana Easel leaves die cuts, I discovered it really went well with crystals and silvers so I added some tiny flowers and gems too. I also splattered some pearl white paint to add some interest.

As a last touch, I traced the printed sentiment with black to make it more crisp. Then, in the same colour scheme, I added the sentiment inside using Lawn Fawn Very High Five stamp set and a die cut from MFT Outside The Box dies.
